UCLPartners has announced the five fellows to take part in their first Innovation Fellowship, a 12-month programme supporting NHS staff to develop their health innovation solutions.
The Fellowship, aimed at innovators working within Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) in the London and Essex region, was developed to foster local innovation and meet NHS priorities. The programme will provide the Fellows with support around key business areas including evidence generation, pitching for investment, building a business case, and implementation.
The Fellows, selected for the innovative health solutions addressing NHS challenges, are:
Suzanne Ali-Hassan, Deputy Director – Commercial and Innovation, UCLPartners said:
“We’re excited to get started with this group of innovators that are each tackling a challenge that they have identified whilst working within the NHS. Using our in-depth experience with commercial entities, we will guide and educate them to develop their health solutions, equipping them with everything they need to carve a realistic route to market.”
Clare Panniker, Chief Executive of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, and programme sponsor said:
“Those on the ground in the NHS are best-placed to identify issues and use their knowledge and expertise to create a solution. The aim of this programme is to take a proof-of-concept innovation and provide the tools to enable them to develop it, ready for implementing in the NHS. We back this Fellowship as a way of encouraging local innovation and addressing gaps in healthcare.”
This programme will be delivered by UCLPartners with support from partners, through workshops, clinics, 1:1 coaching, and NHS brokering. UCLPartners has extensive experience in supporting innovators and businesses with products and technologies addressing health priorities, to develop a realistic route to market.
