New Fellowship launched for future leaders in cardiovascular, renal and metabolic health

UCLPartners is launching the first pan-London Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic (CVRM) Fellowship, in partnership with Health Innovation Network South London and Imperial College Health Partners.

Delivered with the London Million Hearts and Minds programme, the 10-month fellowship will begin in December 2026, and aims to develop the next generation of CVRM leaders across London.

Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of premature death and disability in England, highlighting the need to improve prevention, early identification and management while reducing unwarranted variation and health inequalities.

The Fellowship is open to healthcare professionals working in primary care, community pharmacy and other healthcare settings who want to improve cardiovascular, renal and metabolic health and reduce health inequalities. Fellows will build the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead meaningful change in their organisations and local systems, while joining a growing London-wide network of CVRM leaders.

The 2026–27 programme brings together the experience and learning from previous fellowships delivered by the three health innovation networks, including our CVD Academy.

The Fellowship is supported through sponsorship from Boehringer Ingelheim and Novo Nordisk, alongside public-sector funding through the London Million Hearts and Minds programme. Industry sponsors have had no input into, or influence over, the design of the Fellowship, programme content, speaker selection, participant selection or quality improvement projects.
