Professor Mike Roberts
Professor Mike Roberts is Clinical Academic Lead for Population Health and Programme Director of the UCLPartners Education Lead Provider Programme. He is a general and respiratory physician at Whipps Cross University Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, and Professor of Medical Education for Clinical Practice at Queen Mary University of London.
In the course of his role with UCLPartners, Mike has worked closely with partners in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge to improve care for people with co-morbidities and was instrumental in designing the Health 1000 programme. Mike previously worked as interim Medical Director at Whipps Cross (2015/6), Directorate Clinical Director of Integration for University College London Hospitals NHS Trust (2012/3), and Long Term Conditions Lead for the North East and Central London with Essex Health Innovations Education Cluster (2009/12).
Mike has wide experience of working across primary, community and secondary care to improve patient centred care. Mike has been Clinical Lead for the National Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease audit programme since 2000 and led the European programme in 2010-2011. He is Associate Director Clinical Effectiveness and Evaluation for the Royal College of Physicians of London.
Mike has had a long interest in medical education having been a Director of Medical Education at Whipps Cross and is Professor of Medical Education for Clinical Practice at QMUL. He held past posts as Director of the North East London Foundation School and Dean for Students at QMUL. In addition to his clinical and education roles Mike is Non-Executive Director at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.
