Learning from Excellence

The approach

Safety in healthcare has traditionally focused on avoiding harm by learning from error. This approach may miss opportunities to learn from excellent practice. We believe that studying excellence in healthcare can create new opportunities for learning and improving team resilience. Furthermore showing appreciation to colleagues cultivates a positive workplace.

The community

This supportive community ran for 12 months and involved:

• Four half-day community events co-designed with participating teams
• Resources to cover the essentials of implementing for teams to use in practice
• Access to our online SLACK community
• Sharing learning and peer support between teams and organisations
