The Health Economist role will deliver a range of health economic research and evaluation activities across our wide portfolio.
Salary: £45,000-£60,000

We are looking for a Health Economist. This role is an outstanding opportunity to have a real impact on health and healthcare by supporting our partnership to evaluate the health economic effect of our work and that our partners, articulate its impact and identify opportunities where solutions could have wider implications on the health and care sector. The Health Economist role will deliver a range of health economic research and evaluation activities across our wide portfolio.

About the role

Evaluation is a key component of UCLPartners’ work to accelerate research and innovation into practice. The Evaluation and Insights team supports health and care teams and innovators across our region to understand the impact of introducing innovations – from new technologies to the redesign of services – on patients and the public, health and care professionals, and the wider system.

The Health Economist provides health economic analyses on a range of exciting and high-profile projects. They are responsible for evaluating innovation such as digital health solutions and medical technologies, as well as the economic impact of large scale transformation projects. This includes, but is not limited to, developing models to assess the cost effectiveness of interventions; producing budget impact models; and supporting complex decision making and resource allocation across the health and care system

The Health Economist will conduct and, where required, commission work which may include identifying research methods and developing study design, undertaking literature or systematic reviews, rapid evidence syntheses, report writing, data collection and analysis, data modelling and statistical analyses, and effectively communicating findings to wide range of audiences. This role is an outstanding opportunity to have a real impact on health and healthcare by supporting our partnership to evaluate how and why solutions are successful, articulate the impact of our work and identify opportunities where solutions could have a wider impact on the health and care sector.
