Professor Rosalind Raine

Director of NIHR ARC North Thames

Professor Rosalind Raine is Director of NIHR ARC North Thames.

Rosalind is Professor of Health Care Evaluation and the Head of the Department of Applied Health Research at UCL, and Assistant Director of Research and Development at the UCL Joint Research Office.

She has an international reputation for research on inequalities in the distribution of health care, its causes, impact on health inequalities and policy responses. She designs and experimentally evaluates national interventions to reduce inequalities and undertakes evaluations of NHS interventions, with a particular focus on the determinants of effective and equitable implementation. She also leads the UCL drive to develop improvement science.

Rosalind is Chair of the UK Heads of Academic Departments of Public Health, scientific adviser to the World Health Organization (Department of Reproductive Health and Research) and a member of the Research Excellence Framework 2014 Sub-Panel for Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care.

She also advises the Department of Health and national policy Think Tanks.
