ED and COPD networks
This programme ended on 31 March 2022.
In order to facilitate some of this work, we convened two networks:
The UCLPartners Emergency Department Network
The Emergency Departments (ED) network aimed to improve the safety of patients attending emergency departments by providing opportunities for ED multidisciplinary teams across the region to collaborate, network and share learning. The Network’s clinical lead was Anna Swift, Senior ED Matron at UCLH, and was open to all grades and professions, individuals or teams working in or alongside EDs.
The UCLPartners COPD and Asthma Discharge Bundle Collaborative
As part of the Adoption and Spread programme, UCLPartners supported teams within its geography to increase the proportion of eligible patients receiving the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and Asthma discharge care bundles. This work was part of the National Patient Safety Improvement Collaborative.
This collaborative aimed to improve the safety of patients who were admitted to hospital following an exacerbation of their Asthma or COPD, focusing on the utilisation of the COPD and Asthma discharge bundles.
This programme involved respiratory teams in hospitals from our region who cared for patients with Asthma and/or COPD, providing opportunities for collaboration, peer support, and sharing of learning.
The clinical lead for this collaborative was Dr Swapna Mandal.
