Digital resources for referrers to child and adolescent mental health
Signposting to digital resources for child and adolescent mental health
Working in collaboration with the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, we are developing a GP education resource for those making referrals to Children’s and Adolescent’s Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
The CAMHS waiting list for anxiety and depression is up to 18 months with sometimes little or no support easily accessible during the waiting period. Initial assessments within CAMHS often involve signposting to online resources for children, young people (CYP) and their parents to access alongside the commencement of any appropriate therapies.
An education resource for GPs
In order to bring the commencement of treatment and good mental health behaviours closer to the point of diagnosis and referral (where needed), we are developing an education resource for identifying and effectively signposting to online resources. With this, GPs will be able to better signpost CYP and their families to self-directed interventions.
The programme is being co-created with GPs, children & young people and mental health charities working within our geography.
