Cardiovascular disease: AHSC programme
This programme compliments the AHSN focus on improving the cardiac health of our patient population through partnerships that make a real difference in population and place-based care.
- Barts Heart Centre (BHC): A single Centre dedicated to Cardiovascular research, care and education, created when QMUL and UCL cardiology, the Heart Hospital and London Chest Hospital, joined forces to produce a combined clinical and academic centre focussed on treating the whole CV pathway.
- NIHR Barts Biomedical Research Centre: The BRC emphasises world-leading translational genomics relating to inherited common and rare disorders, and the development of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular devices and innovative trials.
- UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science: Founded in 2011, the Institute aims to be a world-class centre of excellence in pioneering novel, integrative strategies in preventative and therapeutic cardiovascular medicine.
