Valentina Karas

Director of Implementation (Patient Safety and Polypharmacy National Programmes)

Valentina Karas joined UCLPartners in November 2018 and is a Director of Implementation, leading on the region-wide delivery of the national Patient Safety Collaborative, supporting NHS organisations across our geography to drive improvements in quality and safety and enhancing reliable care for patients. She is also leading on the regional implementation of the national Polypharmacy and Wound Transformation programmes. 

Valentina works with partner organisations to design, deliver and evaluate improvement programmes as part of our commitment to spreading and scaling patient safety interventions and innovations. Prior to joining UCLPartners, Valentina spent 10 years at the Health Foundation, leading the Foundation’s portfolio focused on supporting the national spread of evidence-based innovations in healthcare. She has keen interest in quality improvement methodologies, human factors, use of digital health technologies and knowledge translation to improve outcomes for patients and staff experience.
