Our Patient Safety Collaborative (PSC), as part of the National Patient Safety Improvement Programme, worked with NHS North Central London Integrated Care System (NCL) to support adoption of an innovative digital solution Whzan Blue Box to manage deterioration in care homes residents.

We were commissioned by NHS England London Region to undertake a retrospective evaluation of ACCTS since March 2020.

Our UCLPartners AHSC (Academic Health Science Centre) members have made major contributions to the national and international efforts to combat COVID-19 through world-leading research and expertise.

Anchor institutions are typically large-scale, non-profit organisations whose long-term sustainability is tied to the wellbeing of the population they serve. The NHS is a prime example of an Anchor institution as the impact it has on the population’s health extends well beyond its role as provider of healthcare services. To support NHS Anchors we are involved in a number of initiatives including a measurement toolkit and the Anchor Strategy and Change Network.

We have selected 12 individuals to become the second cohort of the Aspiring Improvers programme. The participants come from across north central and east London and Essex, and have a wide range of backgrounds.

The Aspiring Improvers programme aims to create a network for people starting out in improvement, providing them with the skills and support to build their confidence and capability to get involved with, and eventually lead improvement.

We are offering up to four trusts in the UCLPartners region the opportunity to pilot the Bedside Learning Co-ordinator app, helping to capture insights from staff and rapidly feed them back to leadership to enable change.

We have trained maternity teams to carry out the Birmingham Symptom Specific Obstetric Triage System to prioritise those with urgent clinical needs.
