New stage for Patient Safety Collaboratives at Patient First conference

31 October 2016

Patient First 2016 logoThe UCLPartners Patient Safety Collaborative is one of 15 AHSN Patient Safety Collaboratives playing a major role at this year’s annual Patient First event.

The Collaboratives are hosting a new Best Practice theatre at the conference and exhibition, which takes place at London’s ExCeL on 22 and 23 November.

Patient First is attended by more than 3,400 healthcare professionals over two days for the latest insight, education, resources and networking around patient safety.

Anyone connected with the Patient Safety Collaboratives can apply for one of a limited number of free places, by using the code AHSN46 when prompted, at: www.patientfirstuk.com.

The new Best Practice theatre will showcase best practice and learning from the Patient Safety Collaboratives. The Collaboratives are part of the Academic Health Science Networks and use their knowledge, expertise and networks to bring together patients, healthcare staff and partners to determine priorities and develop and implement solutions.

A dozen presentations by Patient Safety Leads will share learning about initiatives that are having an impact, across the country.  Sessions from the front line will cover everything from leadership and safety culture, to measurement for improvement and building capacity and capability.

Dr Rosie Benneyworth, the AHSN Network Lead for Patient Safety Collaboratives, said:

“Patient Safety Collaboratives exist to spread best practice, build skills and capability in patient safety and improvement science, and to focus on actions that can make the biggest difference to patients in every part of the country – and so Patient First is the perfect fit to showcase and share our continued work.”

The AHSN Network Patient Safety Collaboratives will be exhibiting on stand M60 alongside over 100 other product and service suppliers and recommend professionals make use of their advisors and supporting information over the two days.

Alongside the Best Practice theatre, delegates can access keynote sessions in the Plenary Theatre, learn about technological developments to support patient safety in the Safety through Technology theatre, and attend a full programme geared towards Infection Prevention and Control in two new dedicated conference theatres.
