Meet our new Chief of Staff Rachel Surtees

18 March 2024
Former Director of Implementation for climate and adolescent mental health at UCLPartners, Rachel Surtees, is appointed in new Chief of Staff role.

We are excited to share that Rachel Surtees, has been promoted to our new Chief of Staff role – overseeing communications, organisational development and corporate services – following a competitive recruitment process.

Rachel joined the UCLPartners team in 2022 and in her role as Director of Implementation has led the delivery of a number of projects including the Havering Youth Wellbeing Census and our Climate Collaborative work.

Rachel said about her new role:

UCLPartners is such a fantastic place to work. To spend every day focused on finding innovation-based solutions to some of the most difficult health challenges is an absolute privilege. I’m delighted to be taking up this new role as Chief of Staff and can’t wait to get started.

We are really excited to see Rachel continue to go from strength to strength in this new position. Dr Chris Laing, Chief Executive Officer at UCLPartners said:

I’m beyond pleased that Rachel will be joining the exec team as our new Chief of Staff. Having worked across health, local government and the voluntary sector, Rachel brings a wealth of expertise in strategy delivery, corporate governance and leading corporate teams. Throughout her time at UCLPartners, Rachel’s commitment to reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes for people across our region has been a driving force in her work and I know will continue to be so as she takes up her new role.
