Dr Kevin Fong, OBE, joins UCLPartners as Chief Medical Officer

Kevin will be providing an experienced clinical voice to our executive team, steering our strategic development and project development.

Kevin is Professor of Innovation and Engagement for Science and Medicine in the UCL Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy. He works clinically as an anaesthetist in UCLH and with Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance service. Many will know Kevin from his extensive work in broadcast media. 

Kevin has previously been a NESTA fellow, a visiting researcher with NASA and a Wellcome Fellow in public engagement.  He also worked as National Clinical Advisor on emergency preparedness, resilience and response for NHS England during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, he has provided great advocacy regarding the long-term effects the pandemic had on healthcare staff.

Kevin will be providing an experienced clinical voice to our executive team, steering our strategic development and project development. He will be also supporting our approach to clinical governance, ensuring our work has clinical impact and supports and is steered by clinicians. Finally, Kevin will be overseeing our innovation horizon scanning, policy, engagement and advocacy work.
