Dominic Dodd recognised in King’s Birthday Honours
Dominic was part of the UCLPartners Board for 16 years, including two years as Chair. He joined the Board in UCLPartners’ founding year of 2009, in his role as Chair of what was then The Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.
During his time with UCLPartners, Dominic played an important role in supporting partnership working across health, care, academia and industry to improve outcomes for patients and communities.
He helped UCLPartners support major specialist services reconfiguration across Barts Health, the Royal Free and UCLH, and led UCLPartners’ Risk and Audit Committee for many years. He also helped form and chair UCL Health Alliance, the provider collaborative across NHS trusts serving North Central London, which merged with UCLPartners in 2023.
Dr Chris Laing, Chief Executive of UCLPartners, said:
“On behalf of everyone at UCLPartners, I would like to congratulate Dominic on this hugely deserved recognition. Dominic has made an outstanding contribution to health and care over many years. His leadership, judgement and commitment to partnership working have helped shape our organisation and strengthen our work to bring innovation into health and care for the benefit of all.
Dominic Dodd said:
I’ve always shared the view that one of our greatest achievements as a country was to commit to the NHS principle – that the best healthcare should be there for all. It’s been such a privilege over the last 20 years to have worked with so many wonderful people who have dedicated their working lives to that principle, and to the difficult combination of day-to-day service and year-on-year reinvention it demands.
I am confident that today, with so many advances, and with courageous leadership and partnership at all levels, the best healthcare for all is now more achievable in practice than it has ever been.”
