17 August 2021
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Chris Laing as Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) Director for UCLPartners.

Chris joins us from University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) and Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, where he continues to practice as a consultant nephrologist. He is also Associate Professor of Nephrology at the UCL Centre for Nephrology. Chris previously worked with UCLPartners, clinically leading our Patient Safety Acute Kidney Injury Improvement Collaborative from 2014-2016.

As AHSN Director Chris will drive delivery of work for UCLPartners AHSN including our three commissions from the Office of Life Science, NHS Improvement and NHS England. He will also help to maximise innovation into practice in the partnership and catalyse cross partnership approaches.

Richard Murley, Chair of UCLPartners said: “Chris has extensive experience spanning health research, service transformation and innovation. I am thrilled he will be joining UCLPartners to lead our AHSN, bringing valuable knowledge from within the partnership. I’ve no doubt Chris will lead our AHSN from strength to strength”

Chris will take up the post from October 2021.
