A new ‘state of the nation report about the use of Artificial Intelligence in health and care has found that we are only beginning to unlock the potential of AI.
The report spotlights some of the opportunities AI creates and shows where it is already being used in projects across the country. It also considers some of the barriers to wider deployment of AI and proposes solutions, including the creation of a “code of conduct” for the sector.
This report confirms that AI has huge potential to improve health and cut costs within the health and care sector. We’re going to see AI increasingly centre stage as the NHS adopts new technologies with the power to transform how services are provided and accessed. The UK is in pole position to lead the world in the development of AI solutions in health and care. The data held by the NHS, our track record for health innovation and the strength of our technology and life sciences sector provide the platform we need to be among the first to make AI a core part of how we care for people.
