UCLPartners has formed an international partnership with Health New Zealand to tackle shared global healthcare challenges through innovation.
This new collaboration will enable the two organisations to exchange insights on complex health issues that require novel solutions. Working together, promising innovations can then be tested in both health systems, allowing for shared learning and greater impact.
UCLPartners will work directly with HealthX, Health New Zealand’s national programme for identifying, testing, and scaling digital and AI innovation. All initiatives supported through HealthX are clinician led and subject to strong clinical governance, safety, and equity requirements.
Dr Chris Laing, CEO, UCLPartners said: “I’m very excited that UCLPartners are partnering with Health New Zealand. We share many healthcare and health inequalities challenges across our populations. Many solutions to address these problems and can be rapidly scaled internationally.
“We can learn a great deal from collaborating on shared approaches for the responsible use of data, digital and AI in healthcare.
“I’ve been hugely impressed by the ambition of the Health New Zealand and HealthX New Zealand teams and I’m excited about us working together in the years ahead”
Sonny Taite, Director HealthX – Digital Innovation and AI – at Health New Zealand added: “This partnership will help ensure Health New Zealand focuses on what is already demonstrating value overseas and learns from how it has been introduced safely in practice.
“This is about learning what works, understanding the risks, and making good decisions before anything is rolled out nationally.”
