1Able to use technology to support centre based SBE & in situ simulations and clinical skills.1.1. Able to use the Simulation Based Education (SBE) related equipment, such as high fidelity, low fidelity mannequins, part task trainers, monitoring equipment and audio-visual aids.
1.2. Awareness of the limitations and functionality of the SBE equipment including the maintenance and trouble shooting.
1.3. Demonstrate an awareness of adult learning theories and be able to apply those principles in the use of SBE equipment
1.4. Awareness of importance of maintains the safe learning environment for learners and faculty.
1.5. Make reasonable adjustments to equipment to optimise accessibility for those with specific needs, eg. controlled interface, use of audio in visual impairment)  
2Able to innovate and explore the possibilities of technology to enhance SBEAll the knowledge and skills previously accumulated, plus:

2.1. Participate in the design of new scenarios and the ongoing evaluation of existing simulation scenarios including trialling and testing
2.2. Design equipment for clinical skills and simulation training
2.3. Demonstrate an understanding of new developments such as Virtual Reality (VR) and online platforms to support the SBE
3Develop a mastery of technology enhanced learningAll the knowledge and skills previously accumulated, plus:  

3.1 Undertake Technology Enhanced Learning modules at University/academies
3.2 Maximise the impact of SBE through innovation and creativity.

Demonstrate:

engagement in continuing professional development (CPD) with regular evaluation of performance by both learner and fellow faculty.

Examples of relevant evidence or learning resources:

  • Courses attended or programmes undertaken including face-to-face, e-Learning, webinars
  • Literature reviews, research, reflective practice, personal reading/learning
  • Feedback from supervisors, peers, learners
  • Examples of initiatives to utilise technology in simulation delivery
  • Formal qualifications eg. TEL modules
  • Other equivalent demonstratable experience
