Using Simulation in Clinical Practice is a blended learning programme for staff working within departments. This course provides staff with the skills to run in-situ simulation-based learning programmes for their clinical colleagues.

Essential Debriefing Skills for Simulation

This two-day course introduces the concepts of structured debriefing, using the diamond debrief model, to facilitate deep reflection, exploration of human factors skills and transfer of learning from simulated experiences to the workplace. Participants will actively debrief simulation experiences and abstract exercises. Using faculty to recreate debrief situations and structured debriefing-of-the-debrief, participants can reflect on technical aspects of the model and how they may facilitate debriefs.

Introduction to Human Factors in Healthcare

This one-day course introduces the concepts of Human Factors science. It explores error and its definition, Safety 1 and the emerging science of a Safety 2 and applied resilience and introduces the Circle of Care – a model for compassionate Human Factors in Healthcare.
