Patient and Public Involvement Leads Network Meeting: DATA-CAN

6 May 2021, 3:30-4:30pm | ONLINE EVENT
This meeting will be all about the patient and public involvement and engagement in DATA-CAN, the health data research hub for cancer

About this Event

DATA-CAN “aims to make high quality health data more accessible for cancer researchers and health professionals, to help them carry out research into new diagnostic tools and treatments to improve care and outcomes for people with cancer.”

As part of our Involvement Leads Network meeting series, we are delighted to welcome Chris Carrigan, the Chief Operating Officer and Patient and Public Involvement Lead, plus Pete Wheatstone, the Chair of the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Group.

Patients and the public are instrumental to the work of DATA-CAN. Chris and Pete will be discussing their approach to PPIE, including:

  • the function of their PPIE group
  • how they recruited for the group, and the selection process
  • activities and areas of work their group have been involved in over the course of the first year of DATA-CAN

Chris and Pete will hold a Q&A session, followed by a short presentation on usemydata.

Get your questions ready and sign up soon, this will be a popular talk.
