Could Care Opinion help you to improve patient care?

25 March 2019

We are inviting departments within secondary care from across the UCLPartners region to apply for a free six-month pilot of Care Opinion, the UK’s leading online patient feedback platform for health and social care.

Care Opinion offers patients and carers an easy way to anonymously and securely share their experiences and feedback with their healthcare provider. Healthcare staff can listen, gain insight, respond, and act on the feedback, improving patient experience. It also gives trusts the chance to recognise staff who are going above and beyond in the treatment of patients.

We will provide four successful departments with access to the Care Opinion subscription, and hands-on support to implement the platform for the duration of the six-month pilot. Each department will then have the opportunity to receive up to 50% funding to contribute towards an annual subscription, to continue to use Care Opinion to gather and respond to patient feedback’. This funding will be awarded through a competitive process.

We are keen to work with secondary care departments that are progressing in their improvement journey and wish to further involve patients in sharing what really matters to them.

Over 500 organisations are already using Care Opinion to listen to what patients, service users and carers are saying.

Lisa Metcalf, a podiatrist at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our patients are happier, we have less complaints, and we’ve found that by listening to our patients, we do have the power to make our service better.”

Ben Mearns, acute medical consultant at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “The important thing is that I now feel confident that if there was a problem, or a patient had a concern, then I would know about it.”

UCLPartners is committed to helping healthcare organisations to increase patient involvement in quality improvement. This is a chance to capture what really matters to patients and identify themes for improvement, as well as celebrating what works well and boosting staff morale.
