AI in healthcare: Cutting through the noise

AI could transform healthcare, but adoption remains slow. To help shift the dial, we gathered insights from across the system to understand what is really needed to scale AI across London.

We created an easily accessible animation to cut through the noise, highlighting real-world examples of AI in action, addressing concerns and encouraging strategic, practical adoption to improve patient care and experience.

In partnership with the Health Foundation, we published a first-of-its-kind report “AI in London healthcare: The reality behind the hype”. It explores AI’s impact, challenges, and the steps needed to scale from pilots to system-wide use.

Digitalised systems being used in healthcare settings

We brought NHS leaders together for a roundtable to explore what needs to change. The message was clear: scaling AI needs strong national leadership, clear local delivery, and strategic partnerships to make London a leader in AI-powered healthcare.

UCLPartners is bringing senior system leaders together to focus on turning AI ambition into action which will help the NHS in London to get patients to the most appropriate environment for their assessment, treatment and care. It will also align clinical capacity to pathway demand, making it easier for clinicians to do the best for their patients.
