Professor Rosalind Smyth
Professor Rosalind Smyth is Programme Director for Child Health at UCLPartners. She is Director of the UCL Institute of Child Health, Honorary Consultant Respiratory Paediatrician at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) and Non-Executive Director of GOSH. She is a Fellow and recent Council member of the Academy of Medical Sciences (UK) and a member of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework sub-panel for Clinical Medicine.
Until September 2012, Rosalind was Professor of Paediatric Medicine in at the University of Liverpool and from 2005-2012 she was Director of the NIHR Medicines for Children Research Network, which supported all clinical research with children in England. In 2011, she led the establishment of Liverpool Health Partners, of which she was Executive Director. Rosalind was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s new year honours in January 2015.
Her research interests include clinical studies of viral/host interactions in RSV bronchiolitis, clinical trials and systematic reviews of treatments for childhood respiratory disease.
